The Hawk | Very Good Knife Co

The Hawk

New for October 2024 comes a great design collaboration with Gabriel of Last Huntsman Outdoors YouTube channel. Gabe's high skill level and understanding of knives comes from a lifetime of collecting, carrying and using knives of all kinds. He has dedicated much of his spare time to making fair and honest reviews testing many of the most popular knives ever made. With that he has earned a lot of respect within the knife community and his opinion is revered by many. The Huntsman, Gabe's first design with VGKC, has been a hit and of course one is never enough in the way of knife creations. This time he's come up with a more EDC suited blade, The Hawk. Denim Blue Hawk

Clean, comfy and simple.

The handle is very similar to that of an Adventure, however we've added a little width on the front end for a more level grip with the added bonus of weight reduction to help balance the feel. It is comfortable any way you grab it and made to fit any hand big or small with the open inner reach. Control is a top priority in this design as it inspires confidence in your ability to use it for any task. The wide blade gives you a positive stop for peace of mind that your hand will not slide forward if you need to use it as a thrusting tool. A simple contour prevents hot spots and the canvas Micarta gives a positive grip in wet or dry conditions.

Green Hawk

A blade born to work.

The blade is a Seax inspired Wharncliffe and while most Wharncliffe blades have a straight edge, this blade has a slightly curved edge which adds to the versatility when paired with the full flat grind. We've chosen a 5/32" stock which is a perfect match for this design, having plenty of spine to handle some hand work while still having very slicey edge that glides through material like hot butter. The point on a Wharncliffe always seems to be sharp enough to get the job done, and the semi straight edge excels at a quick grab and slash. Born to work!

Natural Hawk Blade

Minimal and practical.

Nothing makes an EDC work knife more or less desirable to carry than the sheath. Several factors can make a sheath uncomfortable or inconvenient to carry such as excessive size, too much or too little retention and incompatibility with the type of attachments you prefer or already use. This kydex 'taco' style sheath checks all the right boxes for comfy EDC being compact, smooth drawing and compatible many attachments from Bladetech, UltiClip and more. Already fit with a rubberized nylon strap that can be carried many ways, it is ready to go right out of the box.

Hawk Sheathed

The Hawk checks all of our boxes for a do-all utility carry knife, it's ready to go to work and look good doing it. We are all so excited to get these knives out into the world and into your hands for your next adventure!

"With all that being said, be prepared both physically and spiritually, God Bless and carry on!" -Gabriel
